Gerd has been a Managing Partner at HF Opportunities since 2024. Previously, he worked for Roland Berger for 25 years – most recently as Senior Partner and Co-Head of the RPT (Restructuring, Performance, Transformation & Transaction) division and member of the German Management Board. In this role, Gerd advised medium-sized European, North American and Asian companies as well as corporate groups on restructuring, performance improvement, M&A and financing projects. In particular, Gerd has advised companies in the automotive supply, construction/plant engineering, machine tools, retail, consumer goods and renewable energy sectors and therefore has many years of expertise in these industries and sectors. Gerd studied at the University of Cologne and the University of Rostock and holds a doctorate in business administration. He is regularly active in expert panels and lectures beyond the scope of his projects and publishes studies on the restructuring and PE market. In addition, as an extended board member of the TMA (Turnaround Management Association), he is jointly responsible for the specialist working group on restructuring consulting.

Gerd spends most of his free time with his family. He also keeps fit by running, playing tennis and, last but not least, golf. On holiday, he likes to switch off while diving or skiing.
